“Echo Park is a funky, unpretentious, mixed-ethnicity neighborhood…  And as we descend from the 101, I look upon the promise of Echo Park lake.”  – Marc Porter Zasada

Hecho en Echo Park

Welcome to EchoParkCool — dedicated to local real estate, homes, business, and revitalization in Los Angeles.

Historically oil-rich and prized for its hillside lots, the Echo Park community grew in the late 1800s — during which silent film and real estate development took shape.

From oil barons to war veterans to rock stars, Echo Park has been home to history.  It is the land of Edward Doheny, Mary Pickford, Charles Bukowski, The Eagles, Steve McQueen, and The Dodgers, to name a few.

Its current denizens are ethnically and socio-politically mixed, with a fabric of retailers and architecture as equally diverse. Taquerias, provincial French cuisine, and gastropubs have equal footing in Echo Park.

The suburban sprawl — encompassing Angeleno Heights, Edendale, Historic Filipinotown, Elysian Heights, Temple-Beaudry, Sunset Heights, Belmont Heights, Victor Heights — displays a wealth of architecture.  Queen Anne Victorians, Mid-Century homes, California bungalows, and Craftsmans line various blocks throughout.

Please visit homes portfolio for a visual display of Echo Park, or the blog for local real estate news.

Angeleno vs. Angelino

The fervent debate continues: Shall it be spelled Angeleno or Angelino Heights?

The City signs that demarcate the country's first HPOZ -- proudly in Echo Park -- are spelled either way.

If you owned a frilly Victorian on Carroll Avenue, how would you spell it?
