1618 North Coronado Street

OK, so technically 1618 North Coronado Street may reside in Silver Lake, but seeing as how close it is to bordering Echo Park, I just couldn’t resist writing about this sleek and sexy modern.

1618 N. Coronado Front

Originally built in 1924 it’s hard to see what parts, if any, are original as everything has been updated. With an asking price of $759,000 for 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms those updates include kitchen, bathrooms, electrical, plumbing, floors, roof, water heater, decks, garage – everything. Though it all looks well thought out and executed.

The kitchen is open and, while the backsplash adds a bit of warmth and color, the stainless steel island really gives it a sense of authority (and additional storage). It’s also a nice contrast to the wide plank wood floors.

The higher ceilings certainly help make the living room feel larger.

And, the giant wood monolith/divider adds some much needed pop. What isn’t shown are French doors at the front of the home leading to a large front yard deck that really expands the usable space for al fresco entertaining.

Leading with a democratic approach to bedroom sizing, the home comes with two master suites, each with their own bathrooms.

With regard to the bathrooms, the clean, modern design is generally very nice, but one look at the small, awkwardly squared off toilet and I have to wonder how it would feel while in use. Am I the only one?

1618 N. Coronado Bath

At 1,244 sq/ft 1618 North Coronado is just large enough for a small family, but thankfully there is additional space to play with a large fenced-in yard and two decks. The home also comes with a two-car garage and laundry room.
