There are certain situations where owner occupying makes sense, while other times it would be better to just “own,” and receive some additional rental income. For 1943 Clinton Street, the former situation would be ideal. This thing is gorgeous!
Unfortunately all photos provided only show the top unit, though you won’t be disappointed. Each unit of this $799,000 Spanish-style home is 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom though the top unit also offers a large office/den space.
Built in 1924, amenities include 9 foot ceilings, refinished original hardwood floors, refurbished double-hung casement windows, saltillo and hex tiles in the kitchen and bath, along with updated heat and air conditioning.
The downstairs unit’s current monthly rent is $2,495, while upstairs has the potential for around $2,800. However, when you see the natural light and classic, period furnishings–coupled with modern touches–it may be tough to hand it over to someone else.
Even though it shares space with the washer and dryer unit, the kitchen keeps things supremely classy with tin backsplash, a farmhouse sink, custom cabinetry, cement countertops and stainless steel appliances that include an over-sized stove range.
A pocket door separates a tiled shower from the rest of the bathroom, and there is a healthy amount of additional cabinet space for extra towels and any other bathroom necessities.
From photos alone it’s difficult to tell how large the bedrooms are, as both are nicely decorated with sizable beds, though our best guess is that they’re more than adequate.
If there was one place we would want to spend the majority of our time, it’s here in the den with its vaulted, exposed beam ceilings and row of windows out to what can truly be defined as an urban oasis.
Lots of realtors use the term “urban oasis,” but for this example I think it’s fitting. This large, multi-terraced yard is immaculately well-kept, so keep in mind if you’d like to see it continue looking oasis-y, we hope you know your shrubbery, or are fine with hiring someone who does.
That being said, it truly is a beautiful retreat, with a large deck right off the building and numerous outdoor stations to help you “find your center.”
