The world of leasing just got swank and spendy in Echo Park, to the tune of $1,400 to $6,500 rent per month for 670 square feet for studio lofts to 1,650 square feet for jaw-dropping 2+2 penthouse suites.

The Elysian

William Pereira’s Mid-Century architectural 8-story monolith at 1115 & 1111 W. Sunset Blvd., has undergone major reconstructive surgery — offering floor-to-ceiling seamless walls of glass as windows, wrap balconies, polished concrete and wood floors, Italian custom cabinets, and remote-controlled shades, to name a few.

Helmed by LinearCity Development, 96 rental units are now available to capitalize on Downtown LA’s proximity as a live-work community and — presumably — Echo Park’s nouveau riche.

14 penthouse units, individual 2-story town homes with double height glass walls and replete with private sundecks, capture the LA skyline.  Friday Night Fireworks at Dodger Stadium will probably look best from your penthouse suite.

The pre-cast concrete and steel frame now houses additional amenities for tenants: a 24-hour gym; 20 electric vehicle charging stations; outdoor deck, fire pit, and BBQ; Wi-Fi in common areas; and cabanas.

William Pereira, best know for his design imprint on LAX’s Theme Building, San Francisco’s TransAmerica Pyramid, and a personal, lesser known favorite — the Central Library at UC Irvine — still defies time with the former Metropolitan Water District Building, an iconic landmark in Echo Park.

The only question stands: who will pay a premium to live in it?
